Hat Tip to Enterprising Women
More than 1,000 female entrepreneurs will take part in events around the country to mark National Women’s Enterprise Day on Thursday.
Sixteen events will be held at locations nationwide to mark the women’s enterprise day, which is an initiative of the local enterprise offices. The theme for this year is “from local to global”, and all the events on October 18 will feature female founders and executives from Irish and international businesses.
Fashion designer Aisling Maher, pictured, of Aisling Maher Millinery in Adare, Co Limerick, is a keynote speaker at an event in Adare Manor hotel. Maher, who designs hat, headpieces and fashion accessories, will share her business start-up story. The Adare event will also feature Marissa Carter of Cocoa Brown.
In Dublin, a half-day networking event will take place at the Citywest hotel, with speakers such as Oonagh O’Hagan of Meaghers Pharmacy and Helen Smyth of Facebook. Other female entrepreneurs at the events around the country include Michelle Daly of P&G Cards; Vanessa Tierney of Abodoo; Larissa Feeney of Accountant Online; Anne Reilly of Paycheck Plus; and Chiara Keating of Uniformal.
National Women’s Enterprise Day is co-ordinated by the local enterprise offuces and supported by Enterprise Ireland and councils.
